Wushu Arena Philippines Featured on DWIZ 882: Promoting “Movement for Every Body” Through Wushu, Taichi, and Aikido

Wushu Arena Philippines and Arena Fitness Dojo were recently featured live on DWIZ 882 “IZ Gametime”, where Coach Arra Jeuneze Corpuz, Coach Ishy Tantiangco, and young athlete Luyi Corpuz shared their journey in international competition and their advocacy for inclusive martial arts training.

The interview highlighted the team’s recent success at the 21st Hong Kong International Wushu Championships, where athletes from Wushu Arena Philippines brought home multiple gold medals across Wushu and Taichi events.

More importantly, the conversation focused on a message that defines the entire program:

Movement is for every body.

In the interview, Coach Arra emphasized that martial arts and movement should not be limited by age, body type, or background.

“Movement does not discriminate — people do.”

This principle is at the core of Wushu Arena Philippines, where classes are designed to be accessible to everyone — from young children to senior citizens, from beginners to competitive athletes, including individuals with special needs.

A 6-Year-Old Champion Inspiring a Generation

One of the highlights of the interview was the story of Luyi Corpuz, a 6-year-old Taichi athlete who won multiple gold medals in international competition.

When asked about her training, Luyi shared how she consistently practices at home — even working on her splits regularly — showing that discipline can start at any age when guided in the right environment.

Her performance on the international stage has inspired not only children, but also adults and parents who witnessed her journey.

Breaking the Age Barrier in Martial Arts

During the interview, the hosts asked whether seeing a young athlete like Luyi compete encourages others to try martial arts.

The answer was clear: yes — but not just for children.

Wushu Arena Philippines shared that in international competitions like Hong Kong, it is common to see:

  • Young children competing
  • Adults returning to training
  • Senior citizens performing Taichi with strength and grace

This reinforces a powerful truth:

There is no age limit in Wushu, Taichi, or Aikido.

Building a Community, Not Just Athletes

Through Wushu Arena Philippines and Arena Aikido Club, the goal is not only to produce champions, but to build a community where movement supports health, confidence, and belonging.

Their programs continue to grow across Quezon City, offering:

  • Wushu (Kung Fu) training
  • Taichi for wellness and stress reduction
  • Aikido for self-defense and discipline
  • Private and group classes for all ages

This work is also aligned with their recognition under the Martial Arts Coalition for Sustainable Development (MCS), connecting their local efforts to a global movement promoting health, inclusion, and sustainable development.

Start Your Movement Journey

If you’ve ever felt that martial arts or movement was “not for you,” this is your sign to start.

You do not need to be young.
You do not need to be flexible.
You do not need experience.

You just need to begin.
