Wushu Arena Philippines Joins MCS--- A Global Movement Aligned with United Nations SDGs, Strengthens Martial Arts Advocacy in Quezon City
A Quezon City–based martial arts organization is taking a significant step forward in promoting inclusive movement and wellness, as Wushu Arena Philippines officially joins a global coalition aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through its inclusion in the Martial Arts Community System (MCS).
This milestone positions Wushu Arena Philippines as part of an international network of martial arts organizations committed not only to athletic excellence, but also to community development, accessibility, and lifelong wellness through movement.
π Elevating Martial Arts Beyond Competition
Led by Head Coach Arra Jeuneze Corpuz, Wushu Arena Philippines has steadily built a reputation for producing competitive athletes while also expanding access to martial arts training for individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
The team recently represented the Philippines at the Hong Kong International Wushu Championships, earning multiple medals across Taijiquan (Taichi), traditional routines, and weapon categories. They also delivered strong performances at the Emei Cup International Wushu Championships in Chengdu, China.
However, beyond medals and international competition, the organization continues to advocate for a broader mission:
π Making martial arts accessible, inclusive, and relevant to everyday life.
πΏ Martial Arts for All Ages and Backgrounds
Wushu Arena Philippines offers structured programs in:
• Traditional Wushu (Kung Fu)
• Taichi for wellness and longevity
• Japanese Aikido (self-defense and discipline)
• Ballet-based movement training for posture and flexibility
These programs are designed not only for competitive athletes, but also for:
✔ Beginners and first-timers
✔ Adults seeking fitness and stress relief
✔ Seniors focusing on balance and mobility
✔ Children developing discipline and coordination
This inclusive approach aligns closely with the global objectives of the United Nations SDGs, particularly in promoting health, well-being, and community development.
π§ Building a Movement, Not Just a Team
With its inclusion in MCS, Wushu Arena Philippines strengthens its position as more than just a competitive martial arts team.
It is now part of a growing international effort to redefine martial arts as a tool for:
• Holistic wellness
• Personal development
• Cultural appreciation
• Community engagement
“Our goal is to help more people discover that martial arts can be practiced for many reasons — not just competition, but also for health, discipline, and lifelong growth,” Corpuz shared.
π Expanding Programs in Quezon City
Wushu Arena Philippines continues to offer classes and programs across multiple locations in Quezon City, including:
• Fisher Mall Quezon City
• NERV Dance Studio (Panay Avenue)
• Partner venues and community spaces like the Clubhouse at Acropolis Loyola
Programs are open to all levels, with both group classes and private sessions available.
